to be honest, sometimes high school sucks.

No matter how popular or how extroverted you are, there'll definitely be one day in your week of school that you just feel like life's just an a*hole. Well, unless you're just a huge enthusiast .-. *BTW I'M NOT TRYING TO BE DEPRESSING NOR AM I TRYING TO KILL YOUR MOOD BY READING THIS*

BUT

You can survive this. This post is about MY 5 WAYS on surviving high school. heads up , nobody is forced to follow the way i survive high school. IT'S YOUR LIFE, live however you want to and don't waste your time on HATERS and all the judgement by society. DO YOU & BE YOU <3

#1 GET A PLANNER

TRUST ME DON'T UNDERESTIMATE PLANNING. it especially helps people like me who are SUPER forgetful. You don't necessarily have to use a notebook, you can even use the NOTEPAD app that is ALREADY in your phone or you can install any apps that you can type stuff in. Write / Type down things you want to do throughout the week or things you need to buy. You can even write down things you want to accomplish by the end of the year. Set down milestones. Put timelines to help with time management which can be tough for high school students. Manage your time wisely and have a balance with playtime and study time. ALSO, I know this is hard but TRY NOT TO PROCRASTINATE. Which comes to the second tip...

#2 DON'T PROCRASTINATE *or try your best not to*

PROCRASTINATION is your GREATEST enemy. It is literally a time killer. Stick to the things you've planned in your planner. Jot down all of your assignments/ homework in you planner and finish it soon. for example, try to finish your work before you sleep. After finishing your work, then you can catch up with your NETFLIX SERIES. Or if you're a great multitasker and not someone who gets carried away easily *winks* , just do your work while watching your favourite series. Not everyone can focus on their work while watching something so you can switch to music! obviously not everyone can focus while listening to music too but it sure helps some people. Some people need complete silence.

#3 ATTEND SCHOOL PROGRAMMES / ACTIVITIES

Join a club. You get to meet new friends and even learn new things. You don’t have to be Student Council president or a captain , but set a goal to participate in at least one extracurricular activity per school year. Clubs are a good place for you to find people who might share the same interest as you. Try different sports available in your school. Then, you'll know what kind of sport you're more interested in. Maybe you're unsure of your physical ability, try joining something more academic such as the debate club or a language society.

#4 MAKE FRIENDS

Of course someone can survive without friends. It'll just mean that your HIGH SCHOOL LIFE is going to be boring and dull. Friends can spark up your life. You don't need to have too many friends. Choose your friends WISELY. I know we all secretly wish to be a part of the "popular" group in school, but it really isn't that much of a big deal. BTW, I'm not trying to offend anyone that's popular in school. Being in a popular group, you'll have to constantly keep up with everything that's happening. But personally, I don't like that much of DRAMA so why not approach those who might not be AS COOL AS the popular group but they might be the ones that bring you the most happiness throughout your high school life.

*you can skip this*

Based on MY experience, I prefer having lesser but REAL friends and wisely choose CLOSE ones that you'll TRUST and will bravely share your secrets with without feeling insecure that your secrets will end up on the first page of the news. Ok maybe I'm exaggerating. Not to sound narcissistic, I do have a lot of friends but *NO OFFENSE if you're reading this* I don't feel like I can open up to them about my real feelings nor tell my secrets because never tell your everything to everyone, you'll never know when they can back-stab you. Just let time prove who the real ones are.

#5 STAY POSITIVE

Find positive environments in school. Negativity can be contagious! Try to distant yourself from any toxic people or environment. These people often drain on you and sometimes being with them can make you lose great opportunities. Even though sometimes we'll feel pressured to change the way we act to fit in. Let yourself be who you really are. Fight these feelings and just be who you want to be. "Don't try to FIT IN when you're born to STAND OUT"

LASTLY, High school can be tough but it doesn't last forever. So try to make the best out of it! Have FUN! Your life won't end after high school. It's just a small part of what's likely to be a long exciting life. ALSO, be committed to yourself too. Get enough sleep and eat well. ALWAYS put yourself first and LOVE YOURSELF!
